BARBERS HILL STUDENTS WIN ESSAY AWARDS

Bob Wheat, Chair of the Chambers County Historical Commission presented trophies to the top two Barbers Hill Middle School contestants in the recent history essay contest.

Out of some seventy five participants, Cameron Rock Hayles won the First Place Trophy and a $25.00 savings bond and Virginia Drake won the second place trophy. All participants received a Certificate recognizing their efforts.

The contest is promoted by Barbers Hill Middle School History Teacher Ron Stevens. The Principal is Cindy Price and the Superintendent of Barbers Hill Schools is Dr. Greg Poole.

Assisting with the presentation was Bob Scherer, Vice Chair of the Commission.
