2007 Annual Awards Banquet

A good time was had by all at the 2007 annual Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce awards banquet last week. At top left, Jack Waldrop presents the "Business of the Year" award to Bayside Community Hospital, represented by Chief of Staff Dr. Leonidas Andres, receiving the award, and from left, Aleta Bettis, Pat Fuller, Donna Anderson, and Jim Hutchinson. Top right, chamber office manager Robbie King gives the "Group of the Year" plaque for the Chambers County Historical Commission, represented by her father, Bob Wheat, chair of the group. Center left, Willie and Bubba Lancon get their Gatorfest "Volunteer of the Year" awards from Gatorfest Chairwoman Sarah Cerrone, who also awards, center right, Donna and Bill Rhoades with the Gatorfest Appreciation Award. Bottom left, AISD Superintendent Linda Kay Barnhart presents Donna Standley with the "Educator of the Year" award, and bottom right, former student Amy Hill presented longtime Anahuac High science teacher Tommy Willcox with the "Lifetime Achievement" award.  
County Judge Jimmy Sylvia presents the Citizen of the Year award from the Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce to Sarah Cerrone, Chambers County economic development director and Gatorfest chairwoman in recent years. Cerrone was lauded by Sylvia for her overall ability to bring large tasks to a successful conclusion.
