CHAMBERS COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION RECOGNIZES WELCH HOUSE

The Chambers County Historical Commission recognized the Hugh and Rebecca Welch house located on FM 565 in West Chambers County.

The house was built in 1913 and is the current residence of the Welch’s granddaughter Sandy Sullivan. Sandy’s mother, Nina Presnall, was raised in the house and now lives next door.

The Commission started the house recognition program earlier in the year utilizing mobile yard signs that are placed near the residence.

Anyone that owns or lives in an old house of historical significance that would like to be recognized, should contact Kay Willcox, Chair of the Historical Preservation Committee at 267.6597, or Chambers County Historical Commission Chair Bob Wheat.
